Bulldogs Open The 2017 Season With A 28-7 Victory Over Ponca City

Bulldogs start the 2017 football season 1-0 with a victory over Ponca City.

                Friday night your Edmond Memorial Bulldogs traveled to Ponca City and got the victory to open the 2017 season. The Bulldogs beat the Wildcats 28-7. They did this behind quarterback Blake Burgess who was 18 for 33 and 257 yards passing with one touchdown. Wide receiver Brendan Mitchell had 8 catches for 113 yards. Sophomore running back Nate Williams started his high school career with 16 carries for 117 yards and 4 touchdowns. There was also a dominant performance by the defense. Head Coach Justin Merideth was pleased with the outcome of the game but said that the team still has room for improvement. The Bulldogs take on Stillwater High School this Thursday night at Edmond Santa Fe in the home opener.
